The Kiwanis Club of Forest owns and operates the Kineto Theatre in downtown Forest.

At our theatre, one of the oldest continuously operating movie theatres in the world, we offer weekly feature films and have done so for nearly 40 years. Our website gives the significant historical background of this community gem. 2017 will mark the 100th anniversary for the Kineto Theatre in Forest.
In 2014, we partnered with other organizations to offer the Lambton Film and Food Festival which is held in downtown Forest on the last weekend in May. This event has consistently grown over the first two years and we are planning for even greater success this year.

The Optimist Club of Forest will again this year sponsor the Youth Short Film Competition.  They have enlisted the assistance of a young local graduate from the Sheridan College Film School to work with youth to develop promotional material for our festival. This is in addition to sponsoring the Toronto International Film Festival workshops with secondary schools which was so successful last year.

We see our film festivals and concerts as an extension of the support to our neighbouring communities activities. It is our desire to work in partnership with our Lambton Communities to provide events for our residents and also to attract visitors to this southwestern Ontario area especially in the shoulder seasons and in the winter. We also view our theatre as an anchor in our local downtown. Like other small rural communities we have struggled with vacant storefronts. The Kineto provides an attraction and foot traffic for our local businesses. For all projects, we work closely with the Forest BIA . There is a burgeoning arts and cultural community in Lambton and we pride ourselves on our contribution .
In addition to LaFFF (Lambton Film & Food Festival), we sponsor the Forest Film Festival which runs monthly from September to March, all proceeds from this event support our local Forest Museum.  The NEW Forest Concert Series is now entering it's second year,
we work to showcase local talent as well as bands from Ontario and beyond.

Our group of tireless volunteers and our entire community most certainly welcomes you to any and all of our festival events.
